What is Britax Click Tight?

According to child safety experts %75 of child car seats are installed and used incorrectly by parents, which leaves children vulnerable to injury in the event of a crash, to solve this issue Britax brings a new technology called ClickTight. It is an installation system that uses the vehicle seat belt in a clever way. The new ClickTight system can be used in RF and FF configuration with a few incredible easy to follow steps, so it is now easier to install the car seat correctly and securely with the vehicle seat belt.

Note that new Click Tight seats like the Marathon ClickTight, Advocate ClickTight, and Boulevard ClickTight all have LATCH too but parents are now encouraged to use the new system by Britax.

As you may have already know a car seat should not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path if not it means it is not installed correctly. The Britax claims that with the new ClickTight System you will achieve a tight and safe installation using the vehicle seat belt regardless of what type of vehicle seat belt system you have got on your car.

The Location and Weight Limits of ClickTight

The ClickTight system is composed of a few number of components that are located on the lower portion of the car seat, as you can see in the next photo.

The weight limit of every car seat with a LATCH installation is limited by the weight limit of the lower anchor of the vehicle, ClickTight ensures that you are limited by the weight limit of the car seat and vehicle seat belt, so you don't need to worry about your car's weight limitations.

Marathon ClickTight vs Boulevard ClickTight vs Advocate ClickTight

Marathon ClickTight

The first difference these three car seats from Britax are the Marathon ClickTight is a smaller convertible seat than the Boulevard and Advocate ClickTight. The height difference between the Marathon CT and Boulevard CT is an important factor if you want a bigger seat to prolong the time your children use the seat before moving to a booster seat.
The Boulevard CT and Advocate CT now have considerably taller height limits which are 27 inches for rear-facing. The seated shoulder height also increased in this version which is now about 18 inches for forward-facing. The Marathon ClickTight only increase the height limit by an inch over the previous version which is G4.
Boulevard ClickTight

The only difference worth talking about between the Boulevard ClickTight and Advocate ClickTight are the side impact cushions and the price.

As we mentioned above the Marathon ClickTight is a smaller car seat than the Advocate ClickTight, you can see how they compare to each other in the pictures below. Marathon also has a reinforced head restraint, but it doesn't adjust as high as the Advocate CT.
