Britax Advocate G4 vs G3, What's New




Britax advocate G4 is a high end brand convertible car seat which offers the best side impact protection after G3. The seat is designed for children rear facing ranging from 5 to 40 pounds and forward facing ranging from 20 to 65 pounds which was 70 in G3 model.

The G4 seat i has an infant positioning pillow which must be used only up to 22 pounds before being removed for proper fitting while G3 seat had only an infant body pillow with only general guidelines for removal. The new version also has a single strap chest pad unlike  Advocate G3 which has a second strap for positioning.

The Advocate G4 has a stitched hand indicator line positioned on the seat for maximum shoulder height which shows when a child has outgrown the seat rear facing there are also  informational stickers which have been color coded to ensure easy glance checks.

The G4 seat width is 20.5’’ a reduction from G3 22’’ due to its (G3) additional side impact bolsters. The reduction helps in freeing up some space in the back seat which can be used for additional seats.


So, while the changes in G4 are fairly minor they are important.
